Sullivan, Jeremiah Joseph
78, of Scottsdale, AZ, passed away on December 27, 2012. Jerry was born in Philadelphia,Pa. to Jeremiah Joseph Sullivan, Jr. and Mary E. Albert. He graduated from Phoenix Union High School and Arizona State University
as a business major. Jerry was a home builder and a real estate developer. He owned cattle ranches in Arizona and Colorado. He was a Life Member and Past President of Valley of the Sun Real Estate Exchangers; past Director of the Scottsdale Boys Club; past Trustee of the Arizona 4-H Youth Foundation; and member of the American Hereford Association. He was a founding family of the Saint Maria Goretti Catholic Parish in Scottsdale and was active at the Franciscan Renewal Center in Paradise Valley. Jerry spent many years as a 4-H Club leader. He particularly enjoyed working with all the young 4-H Club members and the other leaders. He loved showing Registered Hereford Cattle at cattle shows throughout the western states. He enjoyed riding on horseback rides with the Scottsdale Charros and the Verde Vaqueros. Jerry was an Irish Tenor and he sang and toured with The Phoenix Orpheus Male Chorus. Jerry is survived by Nancy, his wife of 58 years, and his four children whom he loved so dearly and was ever so proud of: Valerie Remington, Tim Sullivan, Cathryn Calderwood and Carolyn Conditt. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. A visitation and rosary will be held beginning at 6:00p.m on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Road. Funeral mass will be held at Saint Maria Goretti on Monday, December 31, 2012 at 10:00am.
