Janousek, John 'Jack' Louis
Jack, 82 of Chandler died peacefully on March 9. A native of Yankton, South Dakota, Jack was born November 1, 1931. Preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Nellie Janousek, and the grandson of Louis and Julianna Janousek who operated Janousek Studios, Jack grew up in this historic, friendly city by the Missouri River and ended up living his life much like the city he came from. After attending Arizona State College
in Tempe in the 1950s, Jack returned with his family in 1962. A science teacher for many years with Chandler Public Schools, Jack also coached swimming in both Chandler and Muscatine, Iowa where he won a state championship. An avid reader and animal lover, Jack was one of the friendliest men you would ever meet. Jack is survived by his daughter Julie Portillo (David) and son Mark Janousek (Michyo Suzuki-Janousek) along with granddaughters Amanda and Molly Portillo and Sayuri and Maya Janousek. A memorial service for Jack will be held on Saturday, March 15th at Noon in Phoenix, please call 480-274-7783 for directions.
