John W. Freeman, 58, of Goodyear, AZ passed away June 24, 2013 at home surrounded by family. He was born May 23, 1955 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Dick and Mary Anne Patricia (Pat) Freeman. He spent much of his childhood in Phoenix, graduating from Maryvale High School in 1973 and marrying his high school sweetheart, JoAnne Hedrick in 1976. He attended Arizona State University on an academic scholarship, graduating with a degree in Construction Management in 1977. His career in cost engineering took him to California and Texas with roots always firmly planted in the Phoenix area. John recently achieved 21 years with Arizona Public Service (APS) working at Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station outside Phoenix. John will be remembered as a loving and nurturing husband, father, and grandfather. John is survived by his wife JoAnne and children, Greg Freeman, Kathryn Konze and husband Nathan, and Stephanie Freeman, and two granddaughters Meredith and Bethany Konze. John is also survived by his five sisters Beverly Kennell and husband Jim, Delores Freeman, Dorothy Wilhelmi and husband Tom, Joann Crowley and husband Mike, Vicki Starkel and husband Tom, and many nieces and nephews. Memorial service to be held at Heritage Funeral Chapel, 6830 W Thunderbird Rd, on Saturday, June 29 at 9:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to in memory of John Freeman (
