Jose Edwardo "Eddie" Encinas

Encinas, Jose Edwardo (Eddie)
81 of Chandler, AZ, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, after losing his battle with cancer. Born March 6, 1932 to Manuel and Cecilia Encinas in Chandler; eldest of 3, he graduated from Chandler High School in 1954. He served in the Air Force as Chaplains Assistant, travelling the world, before returning to his hometown. He retired from Williams AFB in 1978. Eddie served on the Housing & Human Services Commission and the Coalition for Civil & Human Rights. The Mayor of Chandler declared March 6, 2012, Eddie Encinas Day. He is preceded in death by his parents Manuel & Cecilia and his granddaughter Amanda Rose. Survivors include his 5 children: Joseph, Crystalina (Tia), Victor (Rebecca), Angel (Tony), Brian (Christine); brother, Albert; sister, Clara; 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Services are Friday, May 17. Viewing at 9:00 a.m. at Bunker's Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa; rosary 11:00 a.m. mass at 11:30 a.m. at Saint Mary's Catholic Church, Chandler. Interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Mesa.
