Turner, Joyce Ethel (Dean)
74, of Phoenix, AZ passed away on 12/12/2012. Born in Detroit, Michigan February 21, 1938, Joyce graduated from Highland Park High School in 1956. Joyce moved to Arizona in 1964, working in the Home Title industry while attending Broadcast Journalism School. Joyce was the first Female Traffic Reporter in Arizona, working for KTAR News Radio in Phoenix as both a Reporter and Talk Show Producer. After leaving the Broadcast industry she worked for the AZ DES as a Case Worker and Supervisor. Her love of singing led to her involvement with the Sweet Adeline's for over 30 years, having attained top chorus status, winning National and International competitions several times with the Scottsdale Sweet Adeline's. Joyce looked forward to her retirement years and enjoyed them with her children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, James and Ethel Vickers and her loving brother James (Jim) Vickers. Joyce is survived by her children, Michael Coulter, Diane De Vincenzo, Steven Coulter and David Coulter, all of Phoenix, AZ, 7 wonderful Grandchildren, 4 precious Great Grandchildren and Denver Duncan, her brothers partner and her long time friend. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday December 21, 2012, 11:00AM at Christ Church of the Valley (CCV), 7007 W. Happy Valley Rd, Peoria, AZ 85383, reception immediately following service.
