Leona M. Goodhart

Goodhart, Leona M.
of Surprise Arizona passed away peacefully March 20, 2014. She was born October 24, 1932 in Lake Bronson, MN. She has lived in Bloomington, MN; St. Joseph, MI, Evergreen CO; and Surprise, AZ. Leona is survived by her husband of 57 years, Kermit (Goody) Goodhart. She is survived by three daughters, Tina Lockwitz (Todd Lockwitz) of Lake Orion MI, Laura Goodhart of Aurora CO, and Barbara Fisher (Brian Fisher) of Katy TX; and four grandchildren Veronica Goodhart, Nathaniel Goodhart, Hayden Bashore, and Brian Fisher; and four great-grandchildren Chandler Goodhart, Makayla Goodhart, Amaya Goodhart, and Emma Goodhart. Leona was a pharmacist, graduating from the University of Minnesota and working throughout her career in Minnesota, Michigan, Colorado and Arizona. Upon retirement, Leona was involved in genealogy, volunteering her time at West Valley Genealogical Society in Surprise, AZ. For many, she was a second "mom", always willing to take in strays for a meal or more. Everyone knew that there was always room at her table or in her house if you needed something to eat, a place to stay, or someone to talk to. One of her greatest loves was travel, and she spent many happy hours planning the trips she took with her family and friends, and was teased for always having one foot in the suitcase. Services were held at Camino del Sol on March 25, 2014. Leona's ashes will rest with her parents in Lake Bronson, MN.
