Houser, Leonard J. (Coot)
87, of Scottsdale, Arizona, passed peacefully on June 28, 2013. He was born on December 14, 1925, in Amana, Iowa, to loving parents Frank and Rose Houser. He married Beth Klenk on August 11, 1949, at St. Wenceslaus in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was a member of the American Legion for 67 years and the VFW and the DAV after serving in the Phillipines in WWII and in the Korean War. He was an active member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. He retired in 2005 after 38 years as a remodeling contractor. He is preceded by his parents, loving wife, and brother Otto Houser. He is survived by daughters Sandra and Deborah; son Michael; 16 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sisters Rose and Rita; brothers Lumir and Fran. Visitation is scheduled from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Green Acres Mortuary, 401 N Hayden Rd, Scottsdale, AZ, 85257. Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 7655 E Main St, Scottsdale,AZ, 85251.
