Louise Menetrey

Menetrey, Louise Sanders Price
95, passed away peacefully in hospice on March 16, 2014. She was born January 3, 1919, in Chandler, Arizona, to Lafayette and Nellie Daley Sanders. A second generation native, she was strengthened by her testimony and service in the LDS Church. After graduating from Tempe Union High School and Lamson Business College, she married Glenn W. Price who preceded her in death in 1981. They are survived by son, George; daughter, Glenna (Robert Schmitz); and daughter, LuRisa (Darren Martin); 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. After WWII, Louise pursued a secretarial career capped by having served four Phoenix mayors when she retired in 1979. She and Glenn shared a love of exhibition square dancing, ballroom dancing and bridge club. Her love of dancing led her to meet Vernon Menetrey whom she married in 1986. We all enjoyed Vern's smiling presence; he and Louise shared 27 golden retirement years dancing and travelling in the US and foreign countries. He lovingly cared for her until she needed assisted living. Memorial services will be held graveside at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Greenwood Memory Lawn, 2300 West Van Buren in Phoenix. Arrangements entrusted to Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park and Funeral Care.
