Hamel, Margaret Anne
64, of Tonopah, AZ passed away on June 13, 2013. Loving Mother, Grandmother, and Dear Friend. Margaret Anne was born September 22, 1948 to Terrence and Nancy Hurley in Phoenix, AZ, and passed away June 13, 2013 in her native state. She graduated from South Mountain High School and soon became a respected member of Union Local 469 in Phoenix. She excelled in her trade as a Steamfitter/Welder for 33 years and proudly represented her local as she worked throughout the U.S. "Margie" was always first to lend a helping hand and freely offered her opinion, whether it was asked for or not. She made a profound impact on everyone who knew her. Margaret's outgoing, tenacious spirit will be greatly missed. During Margaret's retirement she enjoyed gardening, and spending time with her family and four grandchildren. She was also an active member of the Gilbert Elks Lodge
#2848 and the Buckeye Elks Lodge #2686. Throughout her retirement, Margaret enjoyed attending meetings and functions at Union Local 469. Margaret is survived by one brother, Patrick Hurley, and his family; her son, Theodore Hamel; daughter, Christine Hamel; daughter-in-law, Hope Hamel; grandchildren, Riley, Kaitlynn, Stacey, and Josephine; and Margaret's life-long partner, Dan Sahadi.
