Harris, Mary Fridal
93, passed away on June 21, 2014 in Peoria, Arizona. Mrs. Harris was born on August 25, 1920 in Garland, Utah to Ira O. Fridal and Doris Merrell. She was the oldest of five children; three boys and two girls. Her father died when she was eight and her mother and three brothers also preceded her in death along with her son Edward in January 2001. Mrs. Harris was reared and educated in Tremonton, Utah and moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho upon her marriage to Dee Harris. She came to Arizona in 1948 from Los Angeles, California and retired from civil service at Luke Air Force Base in 1982. Mrs. Harris was an active member of the Phoenix Women's Bowling Association, serving in all offices and as a delegate to state and national conventions. She was a former president of the PWBA and was elected to their hall of fame in 1985. She was a charter member of the Arizona Bowlerettes Tournament Organization, and was awarded a lifetime membership at their 25th anniversary. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Palo Verde Ward. She is survived by her daughter Susan of Seattle, Washington; her daughter-in-law Peggy Harris of San Diego, California; and her sister Irene Fryer of Salt Lake City, Utah; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held 12:00Noon, Wednesday, June 26, 2014 at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary, 719 N. 27th Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona 85009 followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00pm.
