Mr. Paredes was a Phoenix resident for many years, and was an Attorney. He studied at a University in England for two years and later continued his studies at Columbia University in NY and then he transferred to the University of Arizona in Tucson where he received his Law Degree. Soon after, he was inducted into Army. Survivors are his wife Maria Lusia Paredes and also many nephews and nieces. She was a teacher for the Phoenix Union-High School District for 32 years. She taught foreign Languages at South Mountain High School. Mr. Paredes came from Honduras and practiced Law. He was known as a very kind and generous person. He and his wife donated large amounts of money to Educational Organizations, Civic-Organizations such as the American Legion, School Clubs, Church and the League of United Latin American Citizens. They provided funds for Scholarships and also gave large amounts of money to keep the Reading Program active during the summer for children to improve their English skills. We have lost a great friend in our Community and we will always remember him as a giver to promote a better life for all in need and especially children. Visitation 9:15-10am, Friday, May 31, 2013 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church 6401 S. Central Ave. Phoenix, AZ., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 am. Military Honor Guard Service will be at 11:30 am at Resthaven Park Mortuary Chapel 4310 E. Southern Ave. Phoenix. AZ.
