Richard Clemons, 85, of Peoria, Arizona passed from this life on March 12, 2014. He was born in Albany, New York on January 30, 1929. A Navy Veteran of both World War II
and the Korean Conflict
, proudly serving on the USS Pasadena, the USS Duluth, and the USS Ammen. Richard had many talents and careers which included working at a foundry pouring steel, and painting high structure bridges. Later in life he became a successful inventor and business owner, a licensed private investigator, and a transportation safety coordinator/inspector. He loved photography, and running marathons. Richard was intelligent, kind, generous, and a man of innumerable virtues. His work ethic, loyal friendship and unconditional love will be sorely missed. He is survived by his daughters Cathi Clausen (Frank), Deborah Sersow (Robert) and Patti Ruiz; brothers Charles Selleys (Nancy) and Thomas Selleys. Grandchildren include his dear Catherine Clausen, Adam Sersow, Juston Boyle and Tyeler Boyle. Nieces and nephews include Derrell Selleys (Sunni), Linda Amato (Tony), Ailene Goodrich (Bob), Marie Mosley (Randy), Dolores Belk (Ken) and many great-grandchildren, family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Cindy Boyle, a sister Genevieve Patnode and two brothers Raymond Butler and James Selleys. Honorary pallbearers are Steve Rose, Charles Selleys, Derrell Selleys, Juston Boyle, Tyeler Boyle and Adam Sersow. A graveside service will take place at 10:30 AM on Friday, March 21, 2014, at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary and Memorial Park, 6500 East Bell Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85254.
