Bantz, Dr. Richard E.
78, a resident of Scottsdale, A.Z. for 12 years, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2013 after battling pneumonia for several months. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y and lived in El Segundo, C.A. since the age of three. He was preceded in death by his loving parents Edouard L. and Lorna Patricia Bantz.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years Ana Leonor "Analia" Bejar-Bantz and his dear son Richard Matthew Bantz, his mother-in-law Laura I. de Bejar, sisters-in-law: Malena Burnett, Cecilia Bejar, Rosi & Carmelo D'Amico, Carolina & Carl Lindberg, Eva & Enzo Ciannelli and several nieces, nephews and friends. Richard graduated from El Segundo High School. He received a Bachelors degree from Loyola University in Southern California and a Doctorate degree from Creighton University in Nebraska. He practiced in Hollywood, C.A. until his retirement in 1982. He was an Associate Professor of Post Graduate-Hospital Dentistry at U.C.L.A
., and U.S.C. He moved to Santa Fe, N.M. in 1983 to pursue his love of Spanish culture, tradition and the arts. He was a registered lobbyist, pro-bono service in N.M. He worked tirelessly to secure funding for education and the arts. He enjoyed the ocean, sailing, gardening. Above all, he loved the study of history, music and traveling to his beloved Mexico. A private memorial service for family and friends will be celebrated at a later date. Donations can be made in his memory to: St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 3801 E.
