Romo, Richard Lujan
Richard Lujan Romo, 63, of Mesa, died Tuesday. He was born September 22, 1949, in Los Angeles, Ca. Richard graduated from Bassett High School in 1967, joined the US Marines and went on to serve in combat, in Vietnam, from 1968 - 1969. He was married to Elvia Romo and leaves behind five children-- Patricia Shovlin of Fort Collins, Co; Rosalia Armstrong of Mesa; Richard Romo of Mesa; Kathy Romo of Mesa; and Phillip Romo of Upland, Ca. Richard also leaves behind his mother, Dolores Lujan of Prescott, and many brothers & sisters, as well as eight grandchildren who loved their Grandpa. Richard was blessed with a big heart and had the courage of a lion who took under his wing anyone who needed protection. He served his country with honor and loved his Marine Corps...Semper Fi. He will be missed by all who knew him and were a part of his life. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, September 25th, 10 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church, 450 North Recker Road in Mesa. Burial will follow at the National Memorial Cemetery in North Phoenix at 12:30pm.
