Richard Luzerne Albert

Albert, Richard Luzerne
Richard Luzerne Albert passed away on September 28, 2012 in Mesa, Arizona. Born in Galesburg, Illinois to Luzerne and Eileen (nee Severs) Albert, Richard arrived on March 28, 1934. A proud member of the United States military, he served for both the Army and the Navy during the Korean War. On May 3, 1958, Richard married the love of his life, his soul mate, his best friend, Dorothy Ann Ferguson. Together they spent 54 years adoring each other. Their marriage mirrored that of what fairytales are made of. They had the greatest love story of all time. She lived for him, and he for her. Richard was an outgoing jokester who was full of life, always being the life of the party. Being a "Jack of All Trades", he knew something about everything. To know him, was to love him. His kind nature and generous personality showed in how much he cared for his family. His children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren completed his world. The backyard was made into a playground for the grandkids, and great grandkids. Richard was known for his cooking. Making people eat was his specialty. Richard is survived by his daughters Deborah Gardner, and Wendy Smith; son Richard Albert; grandchildren Jason Schnittker, Jenna Schnittker, Johnny Hammond, Madison Cain, R.J. Albert, Brittany Albert, Paul Albert, Eric Albert, and Mary Albert; great grandchildren Blake Schnittker, Kaelyn Schnittker, Casen Schnittker, and Teegan Sambell; and brothers John Albert, Kenneth Albert, and Tony Albert. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Dorothy, his parents, grandsons Parker Cain, and Nolan Smith, and brother Arthur Albert.
