Ansley, Robert (Bob)
85, of Sun City, AZ passed away on Sept 5, 2013. Bob was born May 1, 1928, lost his mother, DeAlpha May 15, 1928. His paternal step-grandma, Dulce, raised him in Bay St. Louis, MS until his father, Marion L Ansley, married Alice, who became the loving mother to all 4 of Marion's children. Bob was in the Marine Corps, having attended the Naval Academy Prep School. He attended the College of Engineering at UNM & joined the USAF assembling atomic weapons in N Africa & Georgia. With Bob's scientific & engineering background, he joined Bell Labs to design guided missiles & electronic switching systems to improve communications in the US & abroad. After designing peripheral equipment for computers, he joined Motorola's Electronic Countermeasures Grp in AZ where he pioneered in solar collector electronics. He then went to Los Alamos Scientific Lab to assist in the design of the Antares Laser Fusion Energy Operation Program. He was a teacher of GD & T around the US. He worked at Ball Aerospace Systems Grp where he & his team designed a lens fix on the Hubble Space Telescope. While at Bell Labs, he met his wife, Suzanne & fathered 5 Ansleys. He loved games. Bob is predeceased by his parents, sister Margaret, brother Jack & daughters Alice & Marion. Bob is survived by his wife, Suzanne, children Linda (Scott), Terry (Diana) and Bob (fiancee Terri), sister Marion & many grandchildren & grt grandchildren. Bob would be honored with a donation to the AZ Humane Society, 1521 W Dobbins Rd, Phx, AZ 85041.
