"Bumpa" Bob Hoard, 87, of Phoenix, Arizona, died August 7, 2014 in the loving arms of his family after a long illness. He was born May 5, 1927 to Edward Lionel Hoar (yes Hoar, he had the "d" added to his name before he got married to Eileen) and Amelia Barringer in Hazel Park, Michigan. He was a World War II veteran serving in the Navy. He was a graduate of Cranbrook and McKenzie High Schools and Wayne State University in Michigan. Bob was elected State Chairman of the Young Republicans in Michigan. He married the love of his life Eileen Lamborn in 1951. He is survived by his wife of 62 years; his sister Carol Deeter and her husband Jeff; daughters Cindy Hoard, Robin Hoard Damore, Michelle Schwartz and Kristen Hoard; son-in-laws Dennis Damore and Peter Schwartz; and grandchildren Andrea Marie Breiling, Maxine Damore, Madeline Damore, and his namesake Robert Cassidy Damore. He loved his family dearly. Bob moved his family to Arizona in 1965 as Sales Manager for Hartford Life Insurance Co. He had a variety of management positions in the insurance industry. He was a founding member of Shadow Rock Congregational Church and A Stepping Stone Foundation and served on numerous committees over the years. He was the life of the party, he loved playing poker and was a fabulous dancer, dancing was a real source of joy and entertainment for him. He always lit up a room and danced his heart away on Friday nights. We will miss you Bumpa. Dance on Bumpa! A Celebration of Life will be held in November 2014 to be sure all family members can be present.
