Robert R. Widing

Widing, Robert R. "Bob" Sr.
81, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on November 17, 2012 due to complications from Parkinson's disease. Bob was born on August 22, 1931 in Freesoil, Michigan. At the age of 17, Bob and his twin brother, Bill enlisted in the USAF. Also at this age, Bob married his childhood sweetheart and love of his life, Rose Marie Stouder. Together they embarked on a wonderful life that included 25 years in the Air Force which Bob retired as a Chief Master Sergeant in 1973. Bob started another career at Garrett which he retired for good in 1989. Bob and Marie were by each other's side for over 67 years (63 of them as husband and wife). They worked hard, saved their money and made a very special life for themselves and their 3 children. Bob and Marie loved to travel and would spend every summer in Michigan. Bob was a quiet man but had a GREAT sense of humor. He loved nothing more than to spend time with friends and family. Over the years in the military, Bob and Marie made many friends that lasted a lifetime. Success to Bob was not what you had in the bank, but what you had in your heart. Bob loved any function that included good food, good stories, lots of laughter and being surrounded by his wife, friends, his children, his grandchildren and his beloved dog Pepper who shared his life with Bob and Marie for 17 years. Bob is survived by his wife Rose Marie, daughters Karen (Armando) Moreno and Brenda (Rick) Corazza, daughter-in-law, Virginia Widing, sister Beverly (Ben) Herlein and sister-in-law, Shirley Widing, grandchildren, Audrey, Monica, Sharee, Lindsay, Bernadette, Rebecca, Tara, Lena, and Carly, great grandchildren, Blake, Baylee, Taylor, Josh, Katy, Sammy, Khloe and Haven.
