St. John, Robert MD
a retired psychiatrist and psychoanalyst died on 27 April 2014 at the age of 85. He is survived by his wife, Virginia, two children Denise Cirincione (Robert) and Robert M. St. John (Monica); two grandchildren, Yeager and Sophia. His youngest son Ron St. John preceded him in death in September, 2005.
Dr. St. John was born in Richmond, Indiana in 1929; he graduated from Purdue University
(pre-med) and Indiana University Medical School. He had his psychiatric education at Western Psychiatric Institute in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and his psycho-analytic education at the Pittsburgh Psycho-Analytic Institute. During and after his psychoanalytic training, he worked as the Director of the Psychiatric Training Program at Mayview State Hospital, located near Pittsburgh, PA. In 1973, he and his family moved to Phoenix, where he opened an office for his private practice and worked as a Clinical Director at the Arizona State Hospital. In 1980 he became the Director of the Psychiatric Residency Program at Maricopa Medical Center and in 1991 he was named the Acting Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at Maricopa Medical Center.
