Roger Johnstone Harway

Harway, Roger Johnstone
81, of Sun Lakes passed away on December 2, 2012. He was born in Los Angeles, CA and graduated from Hoover High in Glendale, CA and Occidental College in Pasadena, CA. After serving as a captain in the Air Force, he joined his father in the family business as magazine publishers representatives. He covered the West Coast territory until 1988, when he became National Sales Manager for PennWell publications in Tulsa. He and his wife retired to Sun Lakes in 1994. He is survived by his wife, Ila Kraayenbrink, daughters Lyn DiGiorgio ( Tony), Karen Harway, son Don Harway, grandaughter Alyssa Robertson (Jay), and great-grandaughter Shaylee Robertson. He is also survived by his stepsons Thomas Kraayenbrink (Cheryl), David Kraayenbrink (Vicki), and eight grandsons.
Roger played a lot of golf in his retirement, traveled with his wife, and volunteered for Neighbors Who Care in Sun Lakes..
Roger will be truly missed by all his family and friends. A very special appreciation goes out to the staff at Sunrise nursing home who so lovingly cared for Roger, and also to the wonderful care givers from Hospice of the Valley.
