Sterbenz, Rudolph J .
75, of Scottsdale, AZ passed away on February 10, 2013. Rudy was born in Kansas City, Kansas on August 13, 1937. He served in the United States Air Force where he was an instructor of missile guidance systems. Rudy was married to Violet (Sormani) Sterbenz on August 4, 1962, in Kansas. After settling in Scottsdale, Rudy worked at Motorola as an Engineer and Manager where he retired after thirty years of service. Rudy, beloved husband and devoted father, grandfather, and friend, was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Mary, and six siblings. He is survived by his wife Violet; children Rudy, David, Stephen (Cipriana), Patty (Forrest), and Michael (Phuong); twelve grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Rudy was a lifelong devoted Catholic and member of St Daniel the Prophet Catholic Church. He enjoyed working on his computer and was considered the "Help Desk" by his family and friends. Rudy especially liked spending time with his family. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, wood working, crossword puzzles, and telling jokes. Funeral services will be held at St. Daniel the Prophet Catholic Church, 1030 N. Hayden Road, Scottsdale on February 14th at 10:00 am, preceded by visitation at 9:00 and rosary at 9:30. After the service, burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery, 2033 N. 48th Street, Phoenix. Please join the family for a reception following the burial (location to be announced). In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the or St. Daniel the Prophet.
