Winchester, Ruth Anne
73, of Tempe passed away on November 29, 2012. She was admired by all who met her as a result of her generous nature and contagious smile. She was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to parents, Ross and Ruth Brubaker. She lived her early life in Louisiana, and moved to Ohio when her father served in WWII. After the war the family lived in Virginia. She graduated from Princess Anne High School and started college. She then moved with her family to Tempe, Arizona and finished college with a Master's degree from Arizona State University
. She taught Math at Tempe High School and Phoenix Community College until she worked for Unidynamics. She later worked for Arizona Public Service Company for the rest of her career.
She had many hobbies and lived an adventurous life. She was a seamstress; she belonged to the Tempe United Methodist Church choir, she liked hiking in the woods and gardening. She was a member of Civil Air Patrol, and the American Association of University Women. After she retired, she became a world traveler, enjoying cruises with her husband, Robert. They were happily married for 33 years. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, John. She will be missed dearly by all her family and friends.
