Ruth Marie Tolman

Tolman, Ruth Marie
passed away on July 19, 2013 at age 96. She was born in Burley, ID, on March 3, 1917. She is survived by a son Rodney (Kathy), Mesa, AZ; a daughter Christine Heap-Tano, Tremonton, UT; 19 grandchildren; and 64 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Almo J. Tolman and a grandson Jason A. Tolman. Ruth and Almo were sealed in the St. George Temple in 1941. They lived in the Los Angeles, CA area until 1956, after which they moved to Detroit, MI. Almo was transferred to the General Motors home office. In 1974 they moved back to California for ten years and in 1984 they moved to Mesa, AZ. Ruth has been a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having served in many church callings. Serving as Detroit Stake Young Women's President for almost 7 years, Detroit Ward Relief Society President, Stake Gleaner Leader, ward choir director and chorister are just a few of her callings. She had a great love of music and played the ukulele in a singing trio with two very close friends. Services will be held at the LDS Mountain View Stake Center, 1550 N. Val Vista Dr., Mesa, AZ, on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 11 AM, preceded by a visitation at 10 AM. Interment will be in the Mesa City Cemetery. Arrangements by Bunker's Garden Chapel.
