In Loving Memory of Dr. Samuel "Neal" Cissel. Dr. Samuel "Neal" Cissel, 90 years old, of Mesa passed away peacefully in his home on Nov. 25, 2013 with his loving wife, Mary by his side. Neal was born in Tacoma Park, MD on September 11, 1923. He graduated from Hahnemann Medical School in 1947. He served in the U.S. Army for four years while attending medical school, and later entered private practice in York, PA. Neal practiced medicine privately then with the US Air Force, providing dedicated care to his patients. Neal enjoyed many hobbies and a wide variety of interests throughout his lifetime. He served as assistant Scoutmaster and doctor for Troop 268, mentoring many boys to great success. He also served as community volunteer and Campground Host in Yellowstone NP where he was honored for his service by making him an Honorary Park Ranger. He also volunteered at the Desert Botanical Gardens, in Phoenix and AZ Highways Photo Workshops for 14 years..He had a passion for outdoor and wildlife photography. Neal loved playing Santa Claus for family and friends. Neal is best known for his sense of humor, his loving commitment to his wife of 36 years, his family and his many friendships. He made a positive difference in so many lives. Neal is survived by his wife, Mary, sister, Betty Lou, brother, Newton Durboraw (Mary Lou), daughter, Linda Barend (Joe), son, Neal and step daughter, Joyce Huffman, brother in law, Sonny Langston, sister in law, Helen Ensign as well as, 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Neal is preceded in death by his first wife Penny, daughter Beth and step son, Mike Gatlin. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to . A Celebration of Life to be announced.
