74, of Austin, Texas passed away on October 25, 2013. With family by her side, Sandra ("Sandy") Yevette Gross passed away in Austin, TX on October 25th at age 74. A long-time dual resident of Scottsdale and Prescott, AZ, Sandy recently moved to Austin with her husband, Sheldon ("Shelly"), to be closer to family. Sandy was born and raised in Chicago, IL.
It was there she met and married Shelly with whom they raised two children, Scott, now of Austin, TX, and Chris, now of San Francisco, CA. Sandy was an avid athlete who loved to ski and play tennis. She enjoyed travelling the globe and also enjoyed long distance rides on the back of Shelly's motorcycles.
More than anything, though, Sandy loved her family and friends, and she loved to be surrounded by them. Whether you were a new friend or one of the many friends she had been loyal to for decades, Sandy always had time for you and made you feel special and supported. And Sandy was madly in love with her four grandchildren and spent time with them whenever she could.
Sandy was also a survivor, battling numerous illnesses over the years. Despite the health challenges, she was impossible to slow down. Sandy was always active in her multiple communities and generous with her time and energy to everyone that knew her.
Sandy is survived by her husband, son Scott and wife Kara, their children Ella and Jack, and son Chris and wife Stefanie, and their children Everett and Lily, and many nieces and nephews.
