Susan Shippen

Shippen, Susan
69, Susan passed away February 28th surrounded by her family. Susan is survived by her husband Donald Gene Sherman, her daughters Leslie Borges (husband John) and Kristin Duethorn (husband Mark), her four grandchildren Colin and Kyle Duethorn, Hannah and Lucas Dean Borges, her sister Julie Leroy (husband Marty), and several step- and great-grandchildren. Susan was spirited and full of life; she enjoyed spending time with friends. She had a passion for playing golf, driving sports cars, and watching college sports-especially the Missouri Tigers. She was a member of Pinnacle Peak's creative women's organization. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling to Cabo San Lucas, and caring for her dogs. One of her greatest accomplishments was founding and running a successful printing business in a trade that did not encourage female entrepreneurs. Through her competitive drive and determination, she courageously created a business which supported herself and her children and inspired others, something she was incredibly proud of achieving. In the last few years of her life, it was clear, however, that her greatest pride was for her children and grandchildren whom she loved deeply. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 6th at 11:00 AM at Messinger Pinnacle Peak Mortuary at 8555 E. Pinnacle Peak Road.
