Also known as Smitty and Top Gun, 67, of Phoenix, passed away at his home on February 5, 2014. Terry was born August 28, 1946 in Chicago Heights, IL to Arnold and Selma (Bredemeier) Schmidt and moved to Phoenix 28 years ago. He is a proud U.S. Navy veteran, having served on the USS Ranger and USS Intrepid for three tours of duty during the Vietnam War. He most recently was the third shift facilities maintenance supervisor for the Revlon facility here in Phoenix. Terry was an avid shooter, motorcyclist, and supporter of Vietnam Veteran causes, most specifically working the Arizona StandDown every year. He is survived by his wife Deianna Schmidt, daughter Kristin Schmidt, son Kurtis Schmidt, and the apple of his eye, his granddaughter Quinn Schmidt. Visitation will be from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Hansen Chapel, 8314 N. 7th Street, Phoenix with a funeral at 3:00 p.m. at Hansen Chapel. Inurnment will be at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix.
