Carter, Walter Glenn Sr.
92, born October 29, 1921 in Comanche, TX passed away April 6, 2014. He grew up on the EC Bar Ranch owned by his father. Walter served as a Sergeant in the US Army during WWII. He was stationed in Utah where he met his wife, Claire Edwards. The family moved to Arizona in 1951. He was a mechanic for the Studebaker Corporation then became an Engineer Assistant for Airesearch. He loved gardening, hunting, fishing & time with his family. He is survived by his children: Ray Carter, Richard Carter, Glenn Carter, Lanni Carter Reese, 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Claire, his mother, Mittie and his sister, Virginia. Service will be held on Friday, April 11, 2014 at Tempe Mortuary, 405 E. Southern Ave., Tempe, AZ 85282. Visitation at 10:00 A.M., service at 11:00 A.M. with burial to follow at Greenwood Memory Lawn, 2300 W. Van Buren, Phoenix, AZ 85009. Flowers are lovely, or, donations may be made to Hospice of the West.
