WALLACE, WILLIAM (BILL) Lewis,
Of Phoenix, Arizona passed away April 26, 2013 at the age of 81. He was born May 28, 1931 in Phoenix to Frank Blakeslee and Lucille Asher Wallace. He was raise in Arizona through high school (North Phoenix HS Class of 1949). He attended the United States Military Academy at West Point graduating I 1954 and later received a Masters Degree in Engineering from Princeton University
. Upon graduation from West Point he married Nancy Brind, his wife of 58 years who survives him. His ten year Military career with the Army Corps of Engineers included tours in Germany, Vicksburg, Mississippi, Korea and as an instructor at West Point. After returning with his family to Phoenix in 1964, he enjoyed a 28-year career in the aviation engine business with Garrett-AiResearch (now Honeywell) where he managed Systems Engineering and Documentation areas. After his 1991 retirement, he and Nancy traveled extensively outside the United States and engaged in lengthy RV trips through the US and Canada. Since 2000, summers have been spent in a second home near Geneva, New York on Lake Seneca - one of the Finger Lakes. In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his daughter Wendy and her husband Tom Mitchell and his son William: grandchildren Timothy and Charles Mitchell; William III, Alexander and Amanda Wallace as well brothers Richard and Blake. Bill will surely be missed by his family and friends. He lived his life with dignity, honor, generosity and good humor. No public memorial service is planned.
