John David Borden

Borden, John David
58, of Scottsdale, Arizona passed away on September 25, 2012 in a drowning accident at Lake Powell, in Utah. John was born in Merced, California, on August 16, 1954. He is survived by his children, Jeremy and Felicia Borden of Arizona; his mother, Mae Borden of San Rafael, California; his brother, Steven Borden (Ann) of San Rafael and his children Erin Henderson (William), and Adam Borden; and his brother, Michael Borden (Janet) of Scottsdale and his children Jason Borden (Ilaria) and Melissa Teegarden (Zachary). John's father, George W. Borden, is deceased. John's work life began in San Leandro, California, making ice cream and later as a Teamster delivering it for Berkeley Farms Dairy. He moved his family to Arizona in 1987 and began work as a carpenter for CS Construction. At the time of his death he worked for the CS Companies as the Safety Director. He loved talking and sharing stories about all of the building projects he was part of, taking numerous pictures of all building phases. He also loved to party, camp, four wheel and hunt with many of his fellow workers. Over and above work John took enormous pride in his children, their many accomplishments and academic achievements. John's love of family, including his many cousins, was a hallmark of his life. From the moment he rose in the morning to the moment he fell asleep he worried, kept in constant contact, and craved any kind of family get together. During the last 6 years of John's life, he and his best friend, Ms. Jamie Middleton, with the companionship of Bella, pursued happiness in all its dimensions. Their adventures included exploring Hawaii, zip-lining over forests, weekly card games, nightly gourmet dinners, weekend barbeques, cooking classes, house boating each summer on Lake Powell with many close friends, walking with Bella, professional sports games with elaborate tail-gate parties, and numerous wine tasting events at Paradise Valley and Pine Canyon Country Clubs. Most especially, he was an indefatigable social butterfly who loved meeting and speaking with people of all backgrounds. John lived his life with an absolute passion for his children's lives and welfare, good times with family and friends, and constantly caring for others' welfare. Carpe Diem. A mass will be offered at 2:00pm on Saturday, October 13, at The Franciscan Renewal Center at 5802 E Lincoln Drive in Paradise Valley, Arizona.
