Dorothy King Obituary

King, Dorothy Jones aka Dorothy Janis
Born February 19, 1912. Peacefully departed this life March 10, 2010 at her home in Paradise Valley, AZ. She was a resident of Paradise Valley since 1959, spending the summers in her home in Carbondale, CO. She was married to Wayne King, "The Waltz King" for 51 years. She is preceded in death by her husband, as well as her siblings, Alice, Betsy and Bud. She is survived by her daughter Penny Pape of Prescott, AZ, her son Wayne King II (Sandy) of Peoria, AZ , 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. In her early years she was a silent screen actress. Her most notable film was "The Pagan" starring with Ramon Novarro. Although she enjoyed her acting career she was very humble about it, and considered her husband and family her first priority. She was active in The Boys and Girls Club of Scottsdale and was a donor to The Scottsdale Heathcare North. "Muddy" OR "Mex" as she was known and loved by her family and to friends had a wonderful sense of humor and loved life to the very end. She will be missed by the many people she touched. Her family and friends want to thank her caregivers "Caring Senior Services" for the outstanding professional service and devotion they provided to her. Services will be private and donations can be made to the charity of your choice. Messinger Indian School Mortuary assisted the family.

May God rest Miss Dorothy. Though I never knew her, I always enjoyed her screen performance in "The Pagan." A lovely lady.
