James Gibbs Obituary
67, originally from Oak Park, Illinois, and resident of Scottsdale, Arizona since 1998. James was born December 22, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois, and died November 9, 2014, in Scottsdale, Arizona. James is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Lesley Enderlin Gibbs, daughter Erin (Christopher), son James Jr. (Gretchen) and Joseph (Carissa) as well as the four grandchildren who made his heart sing, Macallan, Rourke, Luke and Fiona. James served his country for 35 years, first in the United States Navy, then as a Special Agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He loved his work, but he loved his life even more, traveling from beaches, to ruins, to holy places and historical places. Above all he loved his family, particularly the light of his life, his wife and partner in crime. James is also survived by brother Gregory (Jennifer), Patrick, John (Maureen), and Michael (Sally) and sister MaryAnn (Richard) as well as a host of nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews he was always proud to talk about. James was preceded in death by his father Daniel, mother Rita and brother Daniel (Mary Ellen). Viewing at Messinger Pinnacle Peak Mortuary, 8555 E Pinnacle Peak Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85255 Tuesday 11/11/14, 5pm-8pm. Funeral services on Wednesday 11/12/14 at 10am at Saint Patrick's Catholic Community 10815 North 84th Street, Scottsdale, AZ 85260.

My deepest sympathy to the Gibbs family and friends.
I was assigned to the Chgo PD range and Jim was our guardian angle. He trained and gave us a tremendous amount of support (and humor) and never flinched or expected anything in return.
He set an extremely high standard for us as instructors to follow for knowledge, instructing, hard work and support of everyone.
He will be greatly missed.

Lesleye, Erin, Jim and Joe, We are so saddened and shocked by Jim's passing and all of us have wonderful memories of someone who truly enjoyed life. When I visited this past spring, he showed me all the pictures of the last few years and he was so proud of all of you and the adults you have become. His delight in his grandchildren was obvious.
