I miss you Grandpa. Christmas is going to be really rough without you and your amazing life stories this year. I hope you're resting in paradise.. you deserve all the palm trees and waves in the world.

I am sorry that you are gone. I will always remember your smile and laugh. I had to laugh at my sister's recollection of Scott making the doll smoke.....I do too! The Keefer family was a wonderful collection of people, extended family members, and memories of dinners and holidays spent together. We will miss you Uncle Scott. Cyndy Blunk

I am very sorry to hear about the loss of your loved one. I remember thinking that he was very nice and so life-loving when I met him. I wish I could have known him as well as many of you, he sounds like he was quite a man and from reading some of the entries, full of many interesting stories.

Oh boy, this is a tough one. My first memories as a child were of my uncle Scott in Sioux Falls. He used to swing me around in circles by my ankles. I remember getting into his car for a ride. Him with his James Dean jeans, and cigarettes rolled up in his t-shirt sleeve. Suicide knob on the steering wheel. Always a smile. When I got out of the Navy and got my first apt in Detroit he was there with a 6 pack to christen the place. Moving to Scottsdale, I always knew I could show up at his place and get advice from him. He was always honest and straight forward. He was my uncle, my friend, but also my father figure. Always enjoyed sitting on his porch talking and laughing, having a beer and watching the lizards on the wall. He loved his family so much. What a great example, I could go on but the tears in my eyes make it hard to type. I will miss you so much....

Memories of my uncle scott begin in Sioux Falls...at Grandma Keefer's house. I remember a particular gathering where we had a doll...dick tracy's (cartoon fame) daughter and being the jokester he was, he grabbed the doll and played with her like a puppet....one of the things he did was to make her dance and smoke a cigarette...we have that one on film and I smile everytime I think about the time. Wish I would have known him more as an adult. He seemed to be one of the good guys. bb (barbara boesch haywood, Green Valley, Az)

Oh man, where does one start with Uncle Scott. He always welcomed everyone with open arms to his home or campsite, even when he didn't know you were coming. He always had a good story (usually humorous) about his work travels and vacations. Has great children and grandchildren because he was a good and caring Father.
I think my most memorable memory of Scott is when he came to babysit us in Oconomowoc WI about 1965. My parents were out of town and had asked Scott to watch us and take me to get a haircut. He told me to get in the car as we were going downtown to get me a haircut, he should have never told me that. Unbeknownst to him I hated getting haircuts. So I started to run to the front of the car, as did he. I turned and ran to the back of the car, as did he. He ended chasing me around the car for about five minutes before catching me. I ended up getting my haircut but I got an ice cream cone too.
I have missed you for sometime Uncle Scott, but time & distance don't always work in our favor. I knew you understood that too. Now is your time to be welcomed with open arms as you begin a new journey. Wherever that may be wherever that may take you, you will always have a place in my heart. Until we meet again. Love you. Michael

Len this message is for you first and then all others. I have always felt you were the fun kind of guy that our customers loved no matter what the occasion was. When we worked together at Motorola You were on call from our customers for so many tasks from training and trouble shooting to traveling across the globe and fixing a JCMC installation in Hilo/Guam or wherever. You were always asked for and I am sure the good Lord has picked a another grand spot and and another important task for you. We will miss you and please watch over all of us as we still have a lot to learn. Dsve Crete

We used to call him Good Great Uncle Scott. He was so friendly and open to everyone who entered his life. We drifted away these past years and I regret not being able to spend more of those special times with him. Have a great time with your Sisters and Loved Ones................. We'll miss you. Terri

I had the pleasure of working closely with and learning from Len for many years and to have him as a friend.
He always managed to do the job without getting too serious about it and was always well liked by co-workers and customers alike.
I learned a lot from Len and especially adopted his rule of not working and flying on the same day.
Travelling with Len was always fun and frequently an experience.
There was the time when a couple of matchbooks lit off in his briefcase and we stomped out the contents on the immaculately painted floor of this Air Force radio shop.
And when we filled the cockpit on a Hurricane Hunter C130 with smoke, because the ground wire on the scope-probe evaporated when it accidentally shorted out. This happened right after the crew-chief had scolded us for using an unauthorized flashlight because of the fire danger on this aircraft. We cranked open the cockpit windows and successfully blew out all the smoke.
And when we ate some of Ronald Reagan's jelly beans when working on Air Force 1.
R.I.P. Lenny.
