92, of Scottsdale, Arizona, passed away July 1, 2012. Born in Buffalo, New York in 1919 to Glenn L. Churchill and Ethel A. [Smith] Churchill, he graduated from Hamburg High School in 1937 and received his Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from Colgate University in 1941. Bill enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1941 and subsequently met and married Beulah Mae Coleman in April 1943 in El Paso, Texas. After his service in the South Pacific, he returned state-side and was released from active duty in March, 1946, but remained in the United States Air Force Reserve until he retired in January 1962 as a Lieutenant Colonel. Bill pursued and obtained his Master's Degree in education in 1951 from Alfred University while teaching in Canaseraga, New York. Bill pursued and obtained his doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology at the University of Rochester and moved to Arizona in 1966 with Bea and their two daughters where he and three colleagues started the Arizona State University Counseling and Consultation Center. Bill was a therapist and was also Adjunct Associate Professor of Education at Arizona State University until his retirement in 1985. Bill's wife Bea passed away shortly after their 67th wedding anniversary in 2009. He is survived by his daughters Cherylee [C.C.] and Christie, and grandchild Whitney, also of Scottsdale. A Memorial Celebration is planned for Saturday, July 14th at 11:00am at Messinger Pinnacle Peak Mortuary.
