Langston, Alan Jay
Alan Jay Langston, 62, of Peoria, AZ passed away January 22, 2016. Alan was born in Swindon, England on April 17th, 1953, to Sue Anna (Pitchford) and AJ Langston. Being a military family, he grew up in several cities around the world. He joined the US Air Force in 1969 following the death of his father. Upon Alan's honorable discharge he attended and graduated from the Maricopa Community College Nursing School. His medical career started as an LPN at Good Samaritan Hospital. During his time there he completed course work for his degree as a Registered Nurse. He met the love of his life Catherine Lynn (Maxwell) during this time. They were married on February 11, 1977. They had two sons, AJ (wife Shannon) and Jason (wife Shar) and four grandchildren. He worked as a Medical Case Manager for TriWest, then Humana for the last 15 years of his life. He was a member of the Peoria Masonic Lodge #31, a former Boy Scout Leader, and an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Peoria, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and uncle. He took great joy in life and his family, the Lord and his country. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and caring heart. A memorial service will be held February 13th, 2016 at First Presbyterian Church in Peoria, 10236 N. 83rd Ave, Peoria at 11:00 AM, reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family would request donations to be made to First Presbyterian Church in Peoria where Alan served as an Elder and Deacon.
