Ann Kathryn Ryan Obituary
Ryan, Ann Kathryn
Ann Kathryn Ryan, 74, entered Eternal Life on Tuesday, November 10, 2015. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she lived each day with a humble grace and quiet strength that uplifted and inspired everyone she met. Throughout her battles with breast cancer, the spark of her selfless spirit never dimmed but grew stronger. Anchored by her unwavering Catholic faith, she stood as an example of what it means to love as our Lord asks us to love. Her way was not one of words but of action. When you needed a hug, she was the first in line. When you needed prayers, you were in her heart every morning as she prayed. When you were down, she was quick with a warm smile and words of encouragement to lift you back up. When you were hungry, a home cooked meal was on its way. She served the Church community as both a Eucharistic Minister to the homebound and a Wedding Coordinator for engaged couples. Over the years Ann volunteered her time in outreach to breast cancer patients, raised money for cancer research, participated in The Climb for Cancer, and both the LLS Light the Night and Phoenix Walk to End Alzheimer's. Ann's generous spirit and love of family and friends will be greatly missed but not forgotten. Born on June 10, 1941 in Defiance, Ohio to Paul and Helen Kern, Ann was the middle child of three daughters. She married Thomas Ryan in 1962 and they started their family a year later before moving to Arizona in 1972. She leaves behind her husband of 53 years, her three loving children, Jeff, Jennifer (Anthony) and Stephen; her cherished grandchildren Jessica (Mike), Kristin, James, Nathan and Matthew along with her great-grandchildren Brook and Taylor and her sisters Mary Jeanne (John) and Sue. She was predeceased by her parents and infant brother Cletus. Visitation will be held on Wednesday November 18, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Mortuary 1562 E. Baseline Rd, Mesa, AZ 85204. A Funeral Mass celebrating her life will be held Thursday November 19, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Steven's Catholic Church 24827 S. Dobson Rd, Chandler, AZ 85248. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ann's name may be made to -Lund Home or The . Condolences can be made at queenofheavencatholicmortuary.com.
