89, was taken home by Lord Jesus Christ and set free on April 8, 2016. She was a descendant of John Hart, signer of the Declaration of Independence. She was born in Isleta, Ohio to Flora and Charles Shurtz on February 17, 1927. She lost both of her parents when she was 11 years old. Her Uncle Frank and Aunt Edith Williams took her, her sisters Mary and Charlotte and her brother Samuel into their home. Anna graduated from Plainfield High School as Valedictorian of her class and was honored with a Reader's Digest scholarship. She moved to Dayton, Ohio and pursued a career in business. She worked for the Huffy Bike Corporation as an expert in shorthand and typing. She met the love of her life James Ireland and was married in 1949. They were married for 51 years before James died. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She leaves behind six children, Gwendolyn, Kenton, Brian, Neil, Pamela and Heather, and nine grandchildren, Christopher, Warren, Andrea, Shana, Louis, Erin, Marisa, Kira and Miley, great grandson, Deacon , her sister Charlotte and cousin John. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Samuel, sister Mary, Frank and Edith Williams, and husband James Ireland. Anna lived in Phoenix for 49 years and in her later years she worked as an instructional aide for an adult English as a Second Language class at Rio Salado College. She volunteered at the Christian Care Center teaching adults to speak, read and write in English. She will always be in our hearts. A celebration of her life and memorial tree planting will be held this summer in Flagstaff, AZ. Memorial donations can be made to .
