Anna Katherine (Kate) Bischoff, 97, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, was taken into heavenly glory by her Lord and Savior on November 12, 2014. While on this earth, she labored faithfully and in love for her Lord and family. She was born on March 19, 1917, near Rockford, Ohio, and grew up there on her family's farm. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Schumm, Ohio. She married Arthur (Art) W. Bischoff on August 25, 1940, at Zion Lutheran Church. Art and Kate later purchased a farm adjacent to the farm where he was raised and were blessed with four children. She was a loving, care-giving and gifted wife and mother. In 1962 she moved with her family to Benson, Arizona, where, in addition to her dedication to church and family, she became the librarian of the Benson Public Library. She and Art were founding members of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Benson. In 2000 she and Art moved to Phoenix, Arizona to be closer to their children, where they became members of Grace Lutheran Church, Glendale. Throughout her life she enjoyed serving her Lord and church, spending time with friends and family, and playing several musical instruments. She was preceded in death by her husband Art, and is survived by her children William (Janis) of Henderson, Nevada; Katherine Feuling (Ted) of Marana, Arizona; Charles (Beverly) of Decatur, Indiana; and Stephen (Patty) of Phoenix, Arizona; and her sisters Emma Boerger, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Velma Schumm, of Rockford, Ohio. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren: Derek, Erika, Travis, Michael, Kelly, Dana, Marc, Brian, Trevor, Laura and Philip; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was much loved and will be missed by those who survive her. Funeral services will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 5600 W. Palmaire Ave., Glendale, Arizona at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 17, 2014, with visitation beforehand from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Cochise Gardens of Rest in Benson, Arizona, with a graveside service to be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, November 18, 2014. Memorials may be designated for Grace Lutheran Church, Glendale, Arizona.
