Arie Wanda Ackerman, 78, passed away on August 25, 2006. Arie was born February 7, 1928 in Eagle Grove, Iowa, graduating May 23, 1946. In addition, she attended and graduated from Eagle Grove Jr. College on May 23, 1948. Following a year of training at Beulah Heights Bible Institute in Atlanta, Georgia, Arie transferred to North Central Bible College in Minneapolis, Minnesota from which she graduated on May 23, 1952. After participating in religious education programs for several years, Arie moved to Phoenix, Arizona in August of 1960. She was employed by the Arizona State Department of Health for 3 years, battled severe health problems for several years, after which she was employed by Valley National Bank of Arizona (now Chase Bank) in the corporate operations area. Arie retired from Valley National Bank of Arizona on February 1, 1990 after 21 years. Due to declining health Arie relocated to Bloomington, Indiana to be near family in January 2006. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother; Rev. Edmund Paul Ackerman of Canton, Ohio, sister; Mrs. Beulah Breitkreutz of Hector Minnesota and brother; Robert N. Ackerman of the VA Hospital, Marshalltown, Iowa. Survivors include her brother; Frank C. Ackerman of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, several nieces, nephews, cousins and their extended families.
