Massie, Arthur Logan
87, passed away peacefully at home on Sept. 10, 2011 after a brave battle with cancer. Born July 22, 1924 in Tacoma, WA, Art is survived by his wife Olga (married 62yrs) a daughter Linda Cook (Lynn) granddaughter Catlyst Cook of Tacoma, WA and many nieces and nephews. He graduated from Stadium High School class of '42, was a WWII Veteran, College of Puget Sound Graduate. Worked 15yrs for Weyerhaueser Co. & then taught computer programming at Highline Comm. College for 21yrs. Art loved our lake place and taught many youngsters how to swim and water ski leaving them with many happy memories. He loved boating in Puget Sound & Canadian waters and was active in the Day Island Yacht Club where he served as Commodore in 1974. He loved to travel and after retirement in 1986 bought a motorhome and with Olga toured all 48 states then bought a home in Mesa, AZ. We will all remember Art for his friendly manner, loud cheerful laugh, interest & curiosity about everything and his beautiful head of hair. We want to thank Banner Hospice for home care services. In accordance with his wishes no services will be held. His inurnment will be held at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA. Arrangements by Sonoran Skies Mortuary.
