Ben F. Allinson, 88, of Globe, entered into eternal life on September 6, 2007 after a long, courageous battle with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. He proudly served his country during World War II and was awarded a Silver Star and two Bronze Stars for his exemplary service in the Army. He was a high school track star and loved to run races with his grandchildren. Known affectionately as "the Candy Man'", Ben had a wonderful sense of humor and never knew a stranger. He leaves behind his loving and dedicated wife, Mary; son, Roger Allinson of Globe; daughters, Gloria Honea, of Jacksonville, Arkansas, Lynda Marble (John) of Lakeside, Carol DalMolin (Frank) of Globe; 14 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at 10:00am with services at 11:00am on Monday, September 10, 2007 at Lamont Mortuary Chapel, 328 S. Hill Street in Globe. Interment will be at Mountain Breeze Cemetery.
