92, of Tucson passed away on March 7, 2011. Born in Damascus, VA in 1918, Betty graduated from high school and moved to Bristol, Tennessee. She worked as a welder in Oregon in WWII. Moving to Phoenix, Arizona in 1945, she began working in customer service for Mountain Bell Phone Company until her retirement in 1985. She spent her retirement years traveling the world, visiting all continents, finishing with Antarctica when she was 80. She attended First Baptist Church and volunteered in many organizations. Betty moved to Tucson in 2002 to be near her daughter. She is survived by her children; Janet (Anderson) Gallup (Jim), Allan Anderson (Kimberley), five grandchildren
and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March
11, 2011 at Phoenix Memorial Mortuary, 200 W. Beardsley Road, Phoenix, AZ. Viewing at 1:00 pm and celebration of life at 2:00. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Samaritan's Purse.
