Bonnie Jean (King) Andrews, 85, was born on a farm near Harmony, MN, to parents Claude Ray and Mildred Madge (Searles) King on November 19, 1922. In 1933 the family moved to Oelwein, IA, where her father and his brother bought an International Harvester Farm Equipment dealership. She entered into her Eternal Home on June 28, 2008, in Sun City, AZ, following her son Gary three years to the day. Internment in Sun City, AZ, at Lakeview Church Columbarium. Bonnie attended Oelwein schools and graduated in 1941. She attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids, IA, for one year. She then returned to Oelwein and worked for her father and uncle as a bookkeeper. She worked for the Oelwein High School helping in the typing and shorthand classes. She worked part time as a waitress in the Uptown Café. Bonnie married her high school sweetheart, Milton Lloyd Andrews in Hemet, CA, on September 25, 1943. From this union were born three children - Lynn Marie, Vicki Renee, and Gary Alan. Bonnie was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Oelwein and of Lakeview United Methodist Church in Sun City; a Brownie, Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader; played trumpet in her high school band and orchestra; member of Oelwein Eastern Star, Tri-T's, PEO, Alpha XI Delta Sorority, Tuesday-Niter social group, and the PTA. Bonnie and Milton were members of a national award-winning mixed quartet while in high school. She was an avid seamstress, crocheter, and knitter. One of her knitting creations won the 2nd Place prize at the Iowa State Fair in 1978. She was also a master at canning home-grown fruit and vegetables, working long hours to do so. With her loving guidance and vigilance, all three of her children graduated from high school and college. While they were going to school, she worked for 10 years for Northern Propane as a bookkeeper and office manager. She is survived by her husband Milton of Sun City, AZ; daughter Lynn Brinkmeyer of Hubbard, IA; daughter Vicki (Donn) Boostrom of Surprise, AZ; 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren (with another on the way); and many other relatives and friends. Bonnie, a loving wife, mother and friend, will be sorely missed by all who were blessed to know her in this earthly life. Visitation was held Wednesday, July 2nd, 4 to 7 P.M. at Sunland Mortuary, 15826 Del Webb blvd., Sun City, AZ. Memorial Services were conducted Thursday, July 3rd, 10:30 A.M. at Lakeview United Methodist Church, 10298 W. Thunderbird Blvd., Sun City, AZ.
