Brian Layton Obituary

Layton, Brian Christopher
After 37 bright and joyful years, Brian Christopher Layton, our Husband, our Father, our Brother, and our Friend, passed away in Mesa, Arizona, August 14, 2012. He burst into the world January 30, 1975 in Provo, Utah. He completed Mountain View High School, was thrilled with a 2 year LDS church mission in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, graduated from Arizona State University in Accountancy, and worked dutifully for his family as an accountant. He found Paula Prince, courted her, loved her, and was married October 11, 2003 in the Mesa Arizona Temple. His best friends were his adorable 3 year old son Max and his precious 8 month old son Jack. He was such a kind hearted, loving, and sensitive soul - we loved him because he first loved us, and guile was never found with him. He was always the best of us. He enjoyed being an Eagle Scout and was a Scout Leader where he shared his zeal for the outdoors - a hiker, climber, rappeller, skier, camper and wake boarder. Similarly, if it was a sport, he played it and loved it. His viewing will be held Sunday, August 19, 2012 from 6-8 pm, at Meldrum Mortuary, 52 N. Macdonald, Mesa, AZ. Services will be held on Monday, August 20, 2012 at 11:00 am at the LDS Mesa East Stake Center, 2228 E. Brown Rd., Mesa, AZ, with a viewing 1 hour preceding. A Brian Layton Memorial Fund at Desert Schools Credit Union has been created for his family - reference the last four digits, 3142. He will always be remembered by his cherished wife Paula Prince Layton, his two sons Max and Jack, his parents and siblings who love him - Clay and Barbara Layton, Tricia (Brian Weinert), Mark (Danielle), Michelle (Jeff Adams), and Stephen - and his grandparents Richard and Pat Michaud; 5 nieces and nephews, and loads of great and loving aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and friends. He is already missed.

Dear Layton Family,
There are no words to express the sorrow Brian's passing has brought to all of us who were blessed to work with him. He was an amazing person who always went out of his way for others. It was so apparent how important his family and especially his wife and children were to him. He was so proud. May all of you find comfort in your memories, faith and each other. God bless and comfort all of you as you grieve for such a wonderful person.

Dear Layton Family,
I met Brian his senior year at Mountain View High School; I was his seminary teacher. I fell in love with Brian instantly and was able to enjoy a lot of activities outside of the classroom with him and my Brother, Jared -- we especially loved cliff jumping at "sycamore creek." I've got video of Brian's infectious smile as he re-serfaced having pulled off a perfect Flying Dutchman. I've worn a FDL (Fitch Deaton Layton) branded jacket and hat off and on for the last 20 years. Great memories of a great guy with a strong testimony, personality, and purpose! I wish I could attend his viewing / funeral; I'll be there in spirit and get a report from Jared. I'm sorry for your temporary loss.
