Father Brian Fenlon Obituary
Fenlon, Father Brian
Father Brian Fenlon died Tuesday, May 10, 2016. As he graduates to his new life, he wishes to share with his survivors one final thought, one of gratitude. He is profoundly grateful for his planetary life. His gratitude flows primarily from those relationships that taught him love. It's due to the patient, compassionate, accepting, forgiving, caring, wise, and most of all honest sharing of many that have made him into the more complete person he is today. Though a litany of names at this point would be appropriate, it would not only be very lengthy, but it is certain that names would be inadvertently left out, some of which Brian is not even aware. However, without this abundance of compassion, Brian would still be the fearful little boy he once was. Brian also wishes to express his gratitude to those people who, because of their prejudice, betrayal, abuse, dishonesty and blindness, challenged him to greater depths of acceptance, patience and forgiveness, forging in him great wisdom and capacity for love. It's especially the result of these encounters that led Brian to a more real faith in the Holy. Encountering the unholy, he was confronted with the necessity to surrender to the Holy. Brian has at least begun to engage in such a surrender, which is most fortunate given that this is what makes possible his new life today. Therefore, at this point in Brian's life he is eternally grateful. He desires nothing more than to have all who have been a part of his life know of his deep gratitude for their part in so beautifully and powerfully revealing to him his life's rich wonder. It is his prayer for all that they too will arrive at increased gratitude for their particular life, and the mystery of love it reveals. It's this gift that his planetary life has given him. So he lovingly expresses to you and all a resounding "Thank you." A visitation will be held from 6:30pm - 8:30pm, Sunday, May 15th in Fenlon Hall at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 10815 N. 84th Street, Scottsdale, with a Scripture Service at 7:00pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, May 16th in St. Patrick's Church with a reception immediately following in Fenlon Hall.
