Carol passed away from early-onset Alzheimer's disease on December 24, 2015, in Phoenix, Arizona, at the age of 61. Carol was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on November 27, 1954, the daughter of Bert Busath and Glenna Belnap Busath. She attended Olympus High School in Holladay and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Utah in 1978. Carol married David Heap in the Salt Lake Temple in 1979. In 1979 the couple relocated to northern Virginia where three daughters were born, and in 1988 the family moved to Phoenix where one son was born. Carol enjoyed reading, hiking, playing sports, dancing, home decorating, teaching, speaking French, baking, drawing, and spending time with the family cats. She was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and spent many hours volunteering with church groups. Carol was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband David; children Carrie, Melissa (Brett), Michelle, and Matthew; grandchildren Brom and Liesel; brothers Richard (Connie), Lynn (VerJean), and Dale (Mitzi); and numerous loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Visitation will be from 6:00-9:00 PM Friday January 8, 2016 at Hansen Chapel, 8314 N. 7th Street, Phoenix 85020. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2016, with a viewing from 9:00-9:45 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints North Mountain Ward, 8710 N. 3rd Ave., Phoenix 85020. Burial will follow at Hansen Desert Hills Cemetery, 6500 E. Bell, Scottsdale 85254. Memorial donations may be made to Banner Alzheimer's Institute, the
