Charles C. "Chuck" Hahn III Obituary
Hahn, Charles C. III
Chuck Hahn passed away from liver cancer on December 3rd, 2015 at Hospice of the Valley. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Charlie and Martha Hahn. Born in 1938 in Enon, Ohio, he spent his childhood farming with his parents and brother. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law Stacy and David Deems, their children Miao Miao and Yang Yang, son and daughter-in-law Chas and Claudia Hahn, their children Samuel, Josiah and Mia, brother and sister-in-law Calvin and Trudy Hahn, nephews Chris and Calvin Hahn and their families. Chuck graduated from Arizona State University with a business degree, and was also an ROTC cadet. He went on to serve in the US Air Force at Selfridge Air Force Base near Mt. Clemens, Michigan as a First Lieutenant working in Air Intelligence during the Cuban Missile Crisis. After his military service, he moved to Phoenix in 1968, where he spent his professional career in Real Estate Development in the greater Phoenix area. A long-time member at All Saints Episcopal Church, Chuck was active in several Philanthropic organizations all of his life. He loved ASU and its students, and was an early major donor to the Center for Entrepeneurship at the University. The Hahn Endowment gave several scholarships to Business students who showed high promise and were in need of assistance. His generosity to ASU was appreciated by many. He was a member of the Indianapolis 500 Old Timers, and was the founder of the Clint Brawner Foundation, an organization that honored young mechanics at the beginning of their career. Dad enjoyed helping people, collecting Western Art, following politics, car racing, ASU football, but most of all, he loved his family and friends. He was a proud father and grandfather, and he was a true and loyal friend to many. He will be missed by all who know him. Funeral Service will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church at 6300 N. Central Ave, January 4th, 2016 at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to the Charles Hahn Endowment at ASU Foundation for a New American University.
