Charles Cecil "Charlie" Goldsmith Obituary
Goldsmith, Charles (Charlie) Cecil
left his loving brothers and sisters on March 13, 2016, after a brief but valiant fight with liver and lung cancer. Charlie was born on August 15, 1943 in Ajo, Arizona to Cleo Pershing Goldsmith and Wilma Odell Rodden. Charlie married Delores Ann "Sandy" Oakley and had two children Charles Thomas Goldsmith and Deborah Lynn Goldsmith. He then married Ruth Ann Burtis and had two children Kevin Charles Goldsmith and Justin Cleo Goldsmith. He leaves behind six siblings, Jerry and Connie Goldsmith of Phoenix, AZ, Peggy Goldsmith of Phoenix, AZ, Kenneth Goldsmith of Avondale, AZ, Sally Runion of Raleigh, North Carolina, Darlene McMath of Phoenix, AZ, Curt and Linda Meccia of Casa Grande, AZ, along with several nephews, nieces and friends. Charlie elected to be cremated with some of his ashes being spread at the gravesite of his father, Cleo Goldsmith. Charlie loved to play softball, but his lifetime passion was fishing. The remainder of his ashes and those of his fiancée, Colleen Ann Conerty, will be spread among the waters of his favorite fishing hole. The family also wishes to thank Banner Estrella Hospital's heart unit, and Hospice of the Valley's Thunderbird unit, for their loving care of Charlie in his final days. Services will be private.
