Lane, Charles (Charlie/Chuck) Clenden
82, of Sun City, AZ passed away on April 19, 2016. He was born in 1933 in Kennett, MO, the son of Silas and Lorine Lane. Charlie moved to Arizona in 1940 when he was 6 years old and lived in Arizona for about 75 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Korean War. Soon after returning from the war, he met the love of his life, Gwen Harper. They married soon after meeting and remained lifelong partners for over 57 years. He worked in construction for many years and helped to build the Sun City community. He built their vacation cabin in Overgaard, AZ and enjoyed many years of retirement relaxing in the cool pines. Charlie was predeceased by his wife, Gwen and his sister, Jan Cook. He leaves behind two children, Deb McDonald (Terry) and Chuck Lane; three grandchildren, Kelley, Jennifer, and Brian; two great-grandchildren; his brother Burley Lane (Judy), his sister Patricia Caperton, and many nieces and nephews. A "Celebration of Life" Open House will be in Sun City at the home of Charles on April 30, 2016, 12 - 4 PM.
