Ronquillo, Christie Jane Stewart
64, of Scottsdale, formerly of St. Johns, passed away on January 12, 2016. A fourth generation native Arizonan, she was born in Prescott and graduated from Arcadia High School in Phoenix. A long time employee of Salt River Project, she was also known for bringing an ice cream truck to the community of St. Johns. She volunteered a great deal of her time to her community as a Court Appointed Special Advocate and in various capacities with her church. Chris was known for her zeal for life, kindness toward others, and a deep love for her family. She is survived by her son, Dr. John C. Ronquillo, daughter-in-law Holli, grandsons Rhys and Efren, ex-husband John A. Ronquillo, sisters Sherry (Joe) Leifeld, Verna Coburn, Sally Stewart, Tara (Paul) Blanc, Rebecca (Ron) Hischier, brothers Frank (Desiree) Brewer, Edgar "Butch" Brewer, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Biven Stewart and Catherine Harriett Dandrea Brewer, stepmother Mary Louise Stewart, and sisters Doris Deaton and Donna Harrell. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, on Saturday, January 23 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2202 N. 74th St., Scottsdale.
